Sony's September State of Play: What was announced so far?

On 13th September 2022, at 3:00 PM PT/6:00 PM ET/ 23:59 CEST, Sony held its latest State of Play event. In this event, gamers got to know pieces of information regarding the upcoming God of War title, titled God of War Ragnarok, a new AAA title based on ninjas, a remake of a previously Japan-exclusive Yakuza game, and more.

Listed below are all the announcements featured on the 13th of September's State of Play with summarised information on all of them.


Tekken 8 gets a reveal trailer


With in-game real-time footage of a cinematic fight scene recorded on PS5, fans get to know the release of a new installment to the revolutionary Game franchise, Tekken.


Like its predecessors, this game too will be developed by Bandai Namco Studios. Katsuhiro Harada, the chief producer of the Tekken project through a PlayStation blog cleared out that the game is still in development and fans must wait for the final release. But for now, here's the in-game footage below.

New Star Wars game for VR2


Sony announces the enhanced edition of the PSVR game, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's edge for PSVR 2. The game is expected to be released in 2023.

Demeo coming to PlayStation


The previously PC and Oculus-exclusive VR title, Demeo is finally coming to PS5 and PSVR2 in 2023.

Previously Japan-exclusive Yakuza game for PlayStation

Sega and Yakuza developers are finally remaking Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! for PS4, PS5, XBOX Series S/X, and PC. Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! was a PS3 game originally released exclusively in Japan and finally, in 2023 it will get a Global release as a spinoff of Yakuza Like a Dragon.

PlayStation gamers will get an exclusive quest in Hogwarts Legacy


Good news for PlayStation gamers expecting the release of Hogwarts Legacy. Sony announced that an exclusive quest will be available for PS users, and it is named, "The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop".

A first-person driving survival game announced


Pacific Drive, a first-person driving survival game was also announced in the State of Play event with a 2023 release date for PlayStation 5.

A post-apocalyptic survival game announced


Sony also announced a Japanese sci-fi game based on a post-apocalyptic world where humans and AI will join hands together to survive the disasters.

A completely new PlayStation 5 console exclusive game announced



Sony announced a PS5-exclusive game based on the journey of Eve to save Earth from an overwhelming foe.

A new ninja game exclusive to PlayStation 5


Rise of Ronin is a completely new RPG game set in feudal Japan and based on Ronins, a warrior. Gamers must take part in immersive combat-focused action experiences.

God of War gets a story trailer and a limited edition controller based on its theme



A new God of War story trailer also gets revealed in the event with new details regarding the game story, gameplay, and graphics.

Sony also announced a limited edition dualsense controller based on the God of War Ragnarok theme.

Everything mentioned above was showcased on the 13th of September State of play event. Including this, a feature called PlayStation stars was also introduced which featured some collectibles to earn points.
