The Z690 Godlike Gets Another Award!

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

The MSI Z690 Godlike motherboard is one of the few flagships that goes out to set new standards. Besides the high-end capacitors and heatsinks that are already promised with the sub-brand "Godlike", users get some bells and whistles that no one would ask for. This beast of a motherboard has got several awards and recognition ever since the manufacturer came up with the design, and the recent iF Design Award adds another trophy to that lineup.

MSI Z690 Godlike Specs

The MSI Z690 Godlike comes with an industry-leading design. The motherboard is almost fully covered with heatsinks and armour, with almost no exposed PCB. It comes with a massive 20+2 phase VRM design, a number that makes counting VRM phases pointless. Each of these chips is rated for 105A.

The board also comes with dual 8-pin CPU EPS for optimal overclocking performance. This feature has been spotted on several Z690 and B660 motherboards from the company. The board has 8 2oz copper "server-grade" PCB layers

Apart from this, the board comes with some bells and whistles for a flagship product like a 3.5 inch detachable IPS touch screen. This screen can be used to display system stats like clock speeds, temperatures, etc. One potential use case scenario can be debugging while overclocking Alder Lake CPUs on this beast.

The board also has the latest in connectivity and expansion slots. It is fully DDR5 and PCIe Gen 5. MSI also includes a 10G LAN port, which can only be used with server-grade hardware. The board also comes with dual Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4.0 ports.

MSI Z690 Godlike Wins the Prestigious iF Award

The Z690 Godlike was recently awarded the prestigious iF Design Award. The company also triumphed in the Red Dot Design Awards recently, with 6 wins. But, their beastliest creation, the Z690 Godlike, did not manage to land a win in the competition.

Apart from the Z690 Godlike, two other MSI products were awarded the iF Design Award. These include their Z690 Force Wifi motherboard and the Stealth GS77 laptop.

The Stealth GS77 laptop, a machine drenched in black, is designed for gamers and businessmen alike. The laptop packs up to an Alder Lake Intel Core i9 processor, an RTX 3080 Ti graphics processor, a 4K 120Hz panel, plus some industry-leading features like Wifi 6E, and six Dynaudio speakers, etc. MSI says this product is "the perfect solution for professionals by day and hardcore gamers by night."

Their Z690 Force Wifi motherboard is a more affordable product as compared to the Z690 Godlike. It is based on an 18+1+1 power phase design, with support for Wifi 6E and 2.5G LAN. PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 support are retained.
