Awarding products according to their performance is very necessary. After extensively testing any product, we award them an award based on its overall performance throughout the process. This helps both the user and us as the reviewer to have a better understanding of the product. We strongly believe that a single word stating whether it is bad or good would not suffice. So, in this post, we will dive deeper into the awarding procedure to ensure transparency in our review procedure.
What are the Awards?
Currently, Cyber Tech Tok has six awards. These include:
CTT Failed
CTT Bronze
CTT Silver
CTT Gold
CTT Platinum
CTT Hall of Fame
Awarding Products: A Deep Dive
In the quest to award products, one review is split into multiple mini-reviews. These mini-reviews are then given individual scores based on our judgment of that particular aspect of a product. The score slabs are as follows:
0-2.5: If the particular aspect in question has failed all of our expectations.
2.5-5.0: If the particular aspect in question fails significantly more fields than it impresses.
5.0-7.5: If the particular aspect in question fails as many fields as it impresses in.
7.5-8.5: If the particular aspect in question impresses us in more fields than it fails in, but is limited by constraints like budget, target audience, etc.
8.5-9.5: If the particular aspect in question impresses us in more fields than it fails in, and it manages to crush the competition.
9.5-10.0: The absolute best in the market at the time of the review being published.
After all aspects of a product have been marked, we average the scores using the following formula:
Product Rating = (Sum of all mini-review scores)/(Number of mini-reviews)
This gives us a product rating, which can then be converted into a product review using the following slabs:
0-2.5: CTT Failed award
2.5-5.0: CTT Bronze award
5.0-7.5: CTT Silver
7.5-8.5: CTT Gold
8.5-9.5: CTT Platinum
9.5-10.0: CTT Hall Of Fame
Conclusion
Awarding products has enabled us to honour the manufacturer for the effort they put into their product, as well as express our true thoughts about a product to the audience. This procedure also has helped us structure our reviews in a very sophisticated manner which allows for a more just testing methodology.
