Deepcool recently launched its all-new LS720 360mm AIO liquid cooler. This cooler is supposed to be a tier above their existing Castle and Gammax series. The cooler is based on a proprietary 4th generation Deepcool-made pump. The company sells an LS320 120mm and an LS520 240mm variant as well. With a revamped design and improved fans, this is Deepcool’s current flagship when it comes to AIO liquid coolers.
Deepcool was kind enough to send us a unit for review. In this article, we will test this cooler and compare it against other popular options in the market.

Pre-Delivery
The Deepcool LS720 is based on Deepcool’s new 4th gen pump. This improved iteration comes with an “improved microchannel” and a “powerful 3-phase motor”. The cooler also packs an innovative daisy chain model to reduce cable clutter. Deepcool claims that the LS series of coolers have been designed to improvise on the acoustics.
“Fans are tuned for excellent cooling while delivering superb silent efficiency.” -Deepcool
The cooler also allows users to customize its looks according to their preferences. It comes with a 5-year warranty, which is comparable to other options available in the market.
Deepcool sells 3 variants in the LS series. These include a 120mm LS320, a 240mm LS520, and a 360mm LS720 liquid cooler.
Variant Name | Rad Size and Fan Support | Price |
LS320 | 120mm rad; 1x 120mm fan | US$ 89.99 |
LS520 | 240mm rad; 2x 120mm fan | US$ 109.99 |
LS720 | 360mm rad; 3x 120mm fan | US$ 139.99 |
Overall, the cooler is cheaper than other options in the market. It looks promising pre-delivery.
Unboxing Experience
The unboxing experience is decent. The layout is the traditional Deepcool packaging we are accustomed to.
Deepcool includes all the accessories like mounting hardware, cables, and paperwork in a small cardboard box.
Although we missed out on the full white layout Deepcool came up with the AK400 cooler, the inclusion of brown cardboard makes it look super elegant and hard to dislike.
We liked the simple and clean unboxing experience and are gladly awarding the cooler a 7/10 in this aspect.
Closer Look
The cooler looks awesome. The paint job is extremely elegant. You will be able to define its looks at the first glance.
Radiator
The radiator is a regular 360mm rad, it has nothing special in it. The fin density is quite high, coming in at 11 fins per inch. However, the third port for filling and burping has been moved to the side of the rad instead of the front where we see it mostly. This is an interesting design decision and is a staple in Deepcool liquid coolers. Other than that, it is just a massive black aluminum piece with a blocky design.
Tubes
The tubes are 410mm long on the 360mm variant. The smaller 240mm and 120mm variants come with 310mm long tubes. Deepcool has added a couple of aligners out of the box. Using these is optional, and you can just remove them in case you do not like them or they are getting in the way. But, we like this inclusion.
CPU blockhead
The CPU blockhead is bigger than expected. The copper baseplate is quite wide too. Upcoming sockets like AM5 and further are going to significantly increase in size, so future CPUs will need this.
The CPU blockhead is painted in silver, and I like it. It also has a mirror RGB finish. Although this is nothing new, it looks dope. Deepcool also allows you to change the looks of the CPU blockhead. The top piece comes off, and Deepcool has provided you with an acrylic cover. You can attach your custom stickers to it, and place them back. You also can rotate this piece in any direction. This will allow users to install this cooler in any direction.
This cooler is not Asetek-based. Deepcool designs their pumps, like Cooler Master. As far as we know, it is based on their "4th gen" design. The company has not revealed any further information on this design.
The thermal paste also comes pre-applied at the base of the thermal plate. This is more of a con than a pro. The paste might dry up if the cooler sits long enough on store shelves.
Included Fans
The included fans are Deepcool’s FC120 fans, which are already available in the market for purchase. These fans are the RGB variant of the fan included with the AK400 we reviewed a while back. These fans also have been boosted to a massive 2250 RPM. Just increasing this number on paper will not create a massive gap. This is more of a marketing gimmick unless you are running an extremely hot running 12900KS.
These fans sport fluid dynamic bearings and have a massive 85.85 CFM rating, which is impressive on paper.
The cooler did feel well built and has managed to deliver a solid first impression. We are awarding it an 8.5/10 in this aspect.
Installation
We were impressed with the installation mechanism Deepcool has come up with. Let us go about why it is so impressive step-by-step.
Cable Clutter
Deepcool has completely solved the infamous cable clutter issue by coming up with an innovative design. Let me break this "innovative design" down.
The way Deepcool is doing this is by using an extremely sophisticated daisy chain design. It took me a few minutes to get my head around it. The fans have proprietary connectors. These connectors are short, and they plug into the port stealthily built into each fan. The CPU blockhead also has one such port which plugs into one of the empty ports. This just slashes the cable clutter by a huge margin. You just have one 3-pin ARGB header and one 4-pin PWM header to connect and no cables overhang. Life is as easy as using an air-cooler.
RGB Implementation
The RGB on this cooler comes on even if the 3-pin ARGB header is not connected. This is not a premium feature, but budget products have this. But, the inclusion of this feature on such a premium product will ensure you have those lights turned on even if your board does not have ARGB on board which is neat. But, users who do not like RGB in their system might get annoyed due to this.
Installation Procedure
I liked the simplicity of the installation procedure. Deepcool has reduced the number of parts required cleverly. Almost every cooler you come across will add a backplate on which you have to attach screws and washers. On top of this some spacers go on, then the CPU blockhead, and then you have to screw it in securely, The process is long and complicated.
Deepcool walks you around the problem by implementing a ready-made backplate and a screw-cum-spacer. Over this, the blockhead sits which is secured by 4 spring-loaded screws. This simplification is appreciated.
Overall, we like every aspect of the installation process. We are gladly awarding this cooler a 9/10 in this aspect.
Finished Looks
This cooler looks elegant, in my opinion. The RGB is sweet, and the CPU blockhead looks interesting. It is one of the best-looking AIOs you can get on the market, at least at this price point.
But, the downside is this thing is available only in black. White always makes hardware look much cleaner and more elegant. Deepcool missed out on this opportunity.
Overall, we like it and are awarding it an 8/10 in this aspect.
Thermal Test Results
The cooler did not disappoint us in the thermal performance. Let us have a look at the test bench.
Test Bench
Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
Motherboard | ASRock B450 Steel Legend |
Memory | 4x Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 8GB |
Video Card | MSI GTX 1650 Ventus XS 4G OC |
Power Supply Unit | Cooler Master MWE 550W 80+ White |
Storage | Crucial MX500 1TB SATA 2.5" |
OS | Windows 10 21H2 |
Case | Open-air test bench |
Thermal Test Graphs
While running the Cinebench R23 stress test for 10 minutes, the numbers are quite acceptable for a 360mm radiator, and it scales quite well at higher frequencies with higher power output. The results paint a similar idea across the Blender test suite and wPrime 1024M stress tests as well.
When compared to a Galahad 360, this cooler softly beats it by a small margin. This is quite impressive.
Overall, the cooler manages to deliver acceptable performance, and it does beat a similarly priced cooler. The Galahad comes in at around $160 while this will go for $140.
I have to say that the thermal test results are on point. We are awarding this cooler an 8/10 in this aspect.
Fans
The FC120 fans are very sturdily built. Deepcool also has included thick rubber pads in every corner to prevent any vibrations caused while rotating at high speeds. You need such protection measures if you are making a fan turn 2250 times a minute.
The fan has a massive RPM rating. But, in real life, those extra rotations do not cause a massive difference in temperatures. There is a slight delta. But, this difference is not justifiable.
These fans also have decent RGB. Although it is not the brightest on a liquid cooler, it will be enough. These fans can also be bought separately in quite a few markets. So, in case you want to set up a push-pull configuration, you can go for an even look.
The fans are extremely quiet. At 1300 RPM and lower, you almost cannot hear them. At 1600 to 1700 RPM, the noise is completely bearable. Top speed (2250 RPM) creates quite some noise, however.
Overall, the fans are impressive. We are awarding the fans a 7.5/10.
Value
This cooler will sell for around $140 in the US. In India, the LS720 will be priced at around Rs 12,000. The LS520 will be priced below Rs 9,000. With aggressive pricing, this thing is entering a very competitive market.
This cooler beats a slightly costlier Galahad 360. The Galahad is one of the best options in the market at this price point. Thus, this cooler packs some heat while costing okay.
Looking at the competition, the LS720 is above average in terms of value. We are giving this a 7.5/10.
